Energy Psychology 

 

Energy psychology (EP) is a collection of mind-body approaches for understanding and improving human functioning. EP focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and known bioenergy systems (such as meridians, chakras, and the biofield). Emotional and physical issues are seen, and
treated, as bio-energetic patterns within this mind-body-energy system.
Dr. Olson incorporates working with natural energetic components into the psychological treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, pain, stress, phobias, and self-sabotaging behaviors. Mindfulness

 

Mindfulness is a term that is used frequently in the world of psychology, but what does it REALLY mean to be "Mindful"? Jon Kabat-Zinn defines mindfulness as 'bare awareness' of the present moment, and as 'paying attention as if your life depends on it'. To be mindful means we exist in the present, without judgement, and with full awareness. It sounds so simple, right? But it also seems impossible! So many people who seek the peace that comes with mindfulness practices quickly abandon them because they have an experience of 'not doing it right' or believe they aren't capable of 'achieving' mindfulness or 'clearing their mind' during meditation. Dr. Olson seeks to help individuals unravel these difficulties, and teach PRACTICAL applications of mindfulness so that each client can experience the benefits of this ancient wisdom.
